About

Charlotte O’Donnell-Young is a qualified and registered counsellor with a focus on interpersonal relationships. She works with individuals and couples and brings a passion for listening with presence and working together as a team to navigate life’s challenges.

Training

I have a Master of Counselling from the University of Canberra and am registered with the Australian Counselling Association (Level 2). I have specialist qualifications in couples therapy, discernment counselling, art therapy and trauma informed practices. If you’d like more information, please click here. I participate in ongoing personal and professional development to enhance my work and follow the code of ethics of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Professional Experience

I’ve worked as a relationship counsellor for Relationships Australia and Relationship Matters and have also worked as an EAP counsellor and a somatic coach, incorporating the wisdom of the body in goal focused work.

Over the years I’ve worn many hats professionally, including teacher, doula, facilitator, personal and business coach and writer. I’ve also had stints in retail and the corporate world. I’m a trained meditation teacher and movement facilitator (Open Floor International) and a lifelong learner.

Personal Life

I grew up in the UK and arrived in Australia in 1993 after working and living in France and Sweden.
I cherish connecting with my loved ones - my partner, our children, family pets, friends and family. I’ve been dancing for decades (5Rhythms and Open Floor) and being in nature - from urban to untouched - soothes my soul.

“I strive to build a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients and support them to align their inner landscape with their outer world; to experience healthy relationships and feel good about their strengths and values.”
